Chemotherapy

Welcome to the Chemotherapy room, well not really a room but many rooms. Chemotherapy is simply the use of drugs to treat cancer. It is a portable form of cancer treatment: it can be given at home (as tablets); it can be given as an injection or drip during a short visit as an outpatient (day Chemotherapy); or it can be given on a hospital ward (inpatient Chemotherapy). There are many different kinds of Chemotherapy and the treatment schedules and side effects will vary widely. We can't cover these possibilities here, but there are other websites available such as CancerBACUP, Cancer Research UK, or the very detailed site from US National Cancer Institute where you will be able to find more detailed information about your particular treatment.
